Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Instructs swimming technical skills in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
- Builds relationships with students and parents; encourages involvement.
- Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules.
- Maintains records as required.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows YMCA policies and emergency procedures.
- Organizes and maintains class equipment.
- Trains and supervises class aides.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid/Lifeguarding.
- YMCA Aquatics or Red Cross Swim Instructor Certified.
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills as per YMCA standards.
