Job Description
Overview:
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for accurately inputting demographic and insurance information for patients admitted to the Hospital, Emergency Department, and Outpatient Departments. This role requires prompt and courteous acknowledgment of consumers while maintaining professionalism and providing high levels of customer service.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with multiple departments, collect deposits, co-pays, and notify Financial Advocates of self-pay or uninsured patients. Record information, scan documents, pre-register patients, and enter orders for services.
Qualifications:
1 year of experience in a hospital or medical office, knowledge of medical terminology, and accurate typing skills. A high school diploma or GED is required; bilingual candidates are preferred.
